I'm not keeping up with my weekly posts, that I do really enjoy writing. I'm having to mix them all up, hope you don't mind?
So I guess this weeks word is:
The boys have been off for a week, Ajax has actually had nearly 2 weeks, thanks to different things going on (not looking forward to Monday).
So what have we done this week? We've mixed up busy days and quiet lazy days.
Monday we made it to Tredegar House, in Newport. We just wanted to get out of the house, in all honesty. Ajax needs his chair, at the moment, because his toe infection is so bad he can't walk properly. Again, I don't know what we are going to do about school, on Monday.
Unfortunately, it absolutely piddled down, and we got soaked. We still enjoyed the hour out, walking the grounds though, the dog definitely did. Then we had a lovely drive around, on the way home, just taking in the views:
Tuesday we went to IKEA, I've been wanting to go for a while, just to get some shelves. As always, with IKEA, we came home with a car full! I literally had a shelf balancing on my head ha ha.
Wednesday was one of the quiet days, it was much needed. There's been so much going on recently, I was exhausted.
Thursday was a lovely lunch, at our local garden centre. Ajax had asked if we could, after we popped in last week, but I said I wouldn't go without RJ. So today was the day, and a lovely meal it was. Me and the hubby treated ourselves to scones, to bring home for tea.
Friday I felt a little unwell, I've been sure I'm coming down with something all week, but kept going, this day I was pooped. We spent a lovely day, watching movies.
Saturday (today), I've been feeling guilty for not giving the dog enough exercise, so we went for a lovely long walk. We stopped at our favourite cafe (Woodies), for a cake and biscuit for the boys.
All in all, it's been a, lovely, mixed bag of a week. Plenty to smile about, which is the most important thing. Now we start June, where the hell did this year go?! This is the month I get to see Pink, in concert, I'm so bloody excited!
Are you on half term this week?
Have you done anything to make you smile?
We don't have half term here. Otoh, we finish school at the end of June (high school on the 20th and college on the 12th) so I'm not complaining. Sounds like you had a full half term.
ReplyDeleteWe did, and finished it off with a family day x
DeletePlenty to smile about sounds like a winner. We tend to do a mix of busy and lazy days too, it helps keep it managable. I hope Ajax's toe is healing well. Mich x
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately his toe isn't x
DeleteI think you managed a good balance of rest and busy. I love trips out, but also enjoying the scenery en route. I've noticed our dogs always enjoy the outing, even if the humans didn't. You live in a beautiful part of the country. I love going to garden centres, but always spend more than I intend, so try not to go to often. Same with Ikea. Glad you got your scones. Hope you have a good week and Monday goes better than you imagine. #wotw
ReplyDeleteYeah ikea and garden centres are money drains lol. Fingers crossed for Monday! x
DeleteA mix of busy and quiet days sound good. It sounds like a great day out despite the rain!
ReplyDeleteI hope everything goes well tomorrow with Ajax going back to school. x
I've got every thing crossed for tomorrow x
DeleteSounds a lovely week, my boys love visiting IKEA. Them scones look delicious X #wotw
ReplyDeleteThe scones were stunning x
DeleteIt sounds like you've had a lovely half-term. Hope Ajax's toe is getting better and that all goes well for going back to school today. IKEA is one of those places when you go in for something in particular and come back with lots of other things too! Those scones look delicious and how exciting to have a Pink concert to look forward to this month :-) #WotW
ReplyDeleteI love IKEA, my bank balance doesn't x
DeleteI just clicked on your link and noticed your first pic straight away, it's the same one my kids school had on their website for half term! It sounds like a fun week, but I'm sorry to hear about Ajax's toe, I hope he gets on at school okay. Don't know if I told you before but my eldest daughter had a toe infection that we couldn't get rid of for years. She even had the toe nail removed. Then last year she had the nail removed again and some solution to prevent it from growing again and so far so good. I can't believe she suffered for so long, but they still don't know why it was infected and why they couldn't cure it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Pink, I hear she does a fantastic gig! Thanks for linking up to #wotw
Haha, I did go looking for free images x
DeleteSounds like a lovely half term. I hope Ajax toe is better soon. And those scones look amazing x #wotw
ReplyDeleteThe scones were delicious x
DeleteIt reads like a busy but enjoyable half term, hope Monday went well, love the views xx
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely x
DeleteWe all have mixed weeks and a mix of good and less good stuff. If we all said so we would all be far better off I reckon but in the mad social media whirl I think we are losing sight of reality which is one reason I love blogs like yours. You reminded me how much I love Wales. So many fond memories of the place and good things come out of it as you know! You know what I will be thinking about that pic of the scones. Good to catch up with your news. #R2BC
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate, good to see you here again x
DeleteHalf term flew for us, but the weather was such a let down again, those scones look so good! Such lovely pic of Wales its such a beautiful place isnt it?
ReplyDeleteIt really is, I think I hadn't been appreciating the beauty enough x
