Ten things I do to relax:

I thought I would share what I do to relax, ease tension, maybe help others along the way.

It's not hard to find things to relax you, if you put the time into yourself. I have been thinking about it a lot lately, I was always the one that would replace emotions with food, obviously that isn't a good solution. So I've been putting more effort into finding a way to replace it.

1. This. Sitting at my laptop, emptying my brain. I used to worry about my readership, my stats. Now I realise this is more of a hobby, that I allow others to read, there has been stuff that I've never published. Whatever I choose to write, it's usually my way of relaxing.

2. Reading. If my life is going at 100mph, which can be often, my favourite way to relax before bed, is with a book. I know there are theories that electronics before bed are bad for sleep, but with my kindle I can lower the brightness of the screen. I can fall asleep so much easier, if I read.

3. Walking. I didn't realise how much I missed it, until I got my dog. Now, appreciating my surroundings, getting fresh air, how can that be anything other than relaxing:

4. Music. I have found music relaxing, for as long as I can remember. I have a very eclectic taste, so you never know what I might be listening to.

5. Television. I've admitted before that I'm a TV addict, just zoning out, on something that doesn't take a lot of brain work. Currently I'm binge watching iZombie.

6. Cooking. It doesn't always work, but when I'm in the mood, it's a great stress reliever.

7. Going for a drive. We all love going for a drive, it's Ajax's favourite thing. We've even discovered the dog loves it:

8. Cleaning. Honestly, I know it's weird to some, but I really do find it relaxes me! Especially when I'm done and I can sit in a nice clean, tidy, room. Of course it doesn't stay that way ha!

9. My hair. Either my hubby plaiting it, which he finds relaxing, or drying and styling it myself.

10. Coffee. Obviously coffee isn't relaxing, but going to a coffee shop with family, or alone, is so relaxing. Enjoying a coffee, or hot chocolate, maybe a cake, beautiful.

I hope you can take something from this, that can help you. If not, go looking for what you find relaxing.
Time for you is important.

  1. I find blogging so relaxing. A good mind dump really helps clear my head and I don't read any books now since I started blogging. I read them instead.
When I'm in a mood with whatever I always seem to do the housework in record time and it does relax me. x

    1. Yes, I always clean better when in a mood too x

I do love comments and read them all, please be nice and tboughful to others x
