Normally when I write a blog post I have an idea of where it's going to go, what it's going to be about. Today I don't, right now I don't even know what to call it.
This was going to be a post about body positivity, and how you should feel comfortable in your own skin, IF you're healthy with it. It was going to be about being able to share your life online, if you choose, without criticism. If you want to share that you're big and happy, do it. If you want to share that you are changing your life, and choosing to be healthier, do that. Cheer each other up, and on!
Then, today, I heard some horrible news about a friend I've known, for as long as my memory goes back.
I've spoken to her regularly, she popped in when she got ill a couple of years ago. I thought she'd got better. We weren't the best of friends, but we spoke regularly. You know, life takes us in different directions and we don't end up close to the people we were friends with, when we were children. We don't leave them behind, we just take different paths that converge every now and then.
I'm still in shock, I can't digest that she's gone. I can't imagine what her family is going through.
Recently, we lost a fellow blogger, she was a similar age to my friend. It's so hard, thinking of the world without these incredible, life loving, vivacious, ladies.
Just do something for me right now: hold someone you love, really tight.
Take a selfie, with or without filters, whatever makes you feel good. Because it's YOU that counts, not others opinions of you.
Live your life, however you want.
Most importantly, look after yourself.
