You may have noticed me missing a post yesterday, I genuinely couldn't think of anything to go with the prompt! It was Flowers, and I don't think *I like being given them* was enough words.
Today is a bit more up my alley: Goals. I tend not to set too many, as I don't like putting the pressure on myself. I've never had any great ambition, I'm more of a *fly by the seat of my ass* type person!
I do, however, like to set myself mini goals. Today, for example, I wanted to do something 'normal'. I wanted to go to our local town and wander around, browse the shops. The only thing I actually needed, if that's the right word, was some new shoes!
We popped to a town further afield first, to a music shop for RJ, he needed new strings and a lead for his amp. Then we popped in to see my eldest son at his new
pigsty home. I figured by now the boys would want to be back to the safety and security of home but, no! They were happy to stroll around town too! It did involve Ajax sitting in his wheelchair, he copes better like that, but we meandered.
It was such a lovely afternoon, actually stress free. There were no upsets at all, we simply walked and talked, ignoring the world around us. Wonderful.
I do have one big goal, if I'm honest. I'd like to be fit at fifty! I am losing weight, slowly, but I have to keep reminding myself that it's a marathon, not a sprint. Hence giving myself 6 years to, not only lose weight, but to get fit and healthy.
I want to get back to Zumba. Currently the only thing stopping me is tiredness, my favourite class is in the evening. As I don't get much sleep I'm ready for my PJ's by 6pm! I would also love to get back to the gym. The only thing stopping me doing that, is me. I can go anytime, as the gym I go to is 24 hours.
I keep reminding myself that I've come this far, I've put this picture as my laptop wallpaper, to remind me:
I've lost more since that second photo too.
Now I have to keep it going, and get fit while doing it!
Do you have any goals? What inspires you to keep going? I've given myself a kick up the bum this week, to get back on track.
Fit at Fifty will happen!
