My plan for this month (June) is to hit 10,000 steps every day. I'm hoping it encourages me to up my fitness level permanently. I fail at this miserably, normally, particularly at 'that' time of the month. As a woman in her 40's, on lots of iron tablets, it's quite horrific.
However, I'm doing it.
The main help is the gym. I can't do jumping around, or zumba, when I get like this, it's simply not possible. My local gym offers an 'off peak' package, which suits me down to the ground. It means I can go while the children are in school, which means the gym is a little quieter too.
My main piece of equipment, when I feel like this, is the exercise bike. I slip my fitbit into my waistband, and cycle for an hour. Today, I day I normally get 1.5k tops normally, I got 15,000!!! The bike means I can sit, work hard, sweat, without too much discomfort.
Now, I'll let you into a little secret........You don't HAVE to listen to music!
I love music, but it doesn't make me work harder. The music they put on the TV in the gym does my head in.
I watch Netflix!
Yup, you read that right, Netflix. I am currently watching iZombie. Headphones in, phone resting on the bike console, I watch something. I don't work any less and the hour I'm on that bike flies by, I still work up a hell of a sweat.
This morning, I watched the TV show: This Morning, with Holly and Phil. I spoke to another gym member who couldn't believe I did that and has decided to do the same thing!
I think you get through it however you can. I am seriously enjoying my workouts, catching up on some programmes.
Had you thought of that?
Would it make going to the gym easier?
