I was lucky enough to spend the day in Cardiff on Thursday, with my mam, shopping.
It was a lovely chilled day, that ended with afternoon tea, at the Hilton (one of my mums birthday presents). I have only ever been to one afternoon tea, before this, so I was simply expecting a range of sandwiches and cake, which they did.
However, what they also did, is give you a large choice of teas to choose from. Now I'm not a tea drinker, but my mum loves her green tea. When it arrived, it came with a little card, and instructions for the perfect stewing time for your particular choice.
It was timed using this:
How brilliant is that! Green was 1 minute, yellow was 2 minutes and black was 5 minutes.
It's the simplest things, isn't it?
Obviously a day in Cardiff, at the moment, would not be complete without a picture of the rugby ball, in the Castle.
It's a brilliant piece of artwork, for something I have no interest in!
How can you not like rugby? I've found something we disagree on. Haha.
ReplyDeleteThat is a fun way to time tea--so simple!
ReplyDeleteWow, that tea timer is very cool! A Welsh person who doesn't like rugby? Unbelievable! (I'm not keen either - I'm only really interested in rugby when my kids are playing it!)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing, I was in Cardiffyesterday, my first ever visit for the Uni Open day with my eldest, what a lovely city it is, rather hoping I might be back! Love the tea timers, genius!
ReplyDeleteLove the attention to detail in the tea shop! The timer is awesome! My mummy LOVES tea! Great piccys x #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteThat set of timers is brilliant. I'd never have thought of that.
ReplyDeleteLove the rugby ball. Is that a permanent structure? In Oxford, we've got a house with a shark in the roof.
It sounds like a great day....That tea timer is so cool x
ReplyDeleteI experienced a tea timer a couple of years ago when we went for afternoon tea - it definitely is the simplest things. Loving that rugby ball too! #mysundayphoto
ReplyDeleteFab shot so interesting with the smooth glass shapes and vibrant colour. I'd love to have my tea served like this. #mysundayphoto
