A Brilliant Crafternoon

I know I have been slightly remiss in my blog writing lately, life has just got in the way. I've been incredibly busy with the boys, as Mr.Ojo is not really able to do much. Add to that, a few blogging events and play dates. it off with dodgy laptop!
(yes, my 'new to me' laptop, didn't live up to hopes)

So yes, I've been busy!

In all the craziness, I haven't had time to tell you about my brilliant afternoon of crafting with Hillary's Blinds.

It was run by Joe's Bloggers, and as I've said before, if you don't follow them, do!

We were asked to an arts centre in Cardiff, to have fun with the materials that Hillary's blinds use in their products. Sounds fun, doesn't it?

There were 2 lovely crafters there to talk us through the 'how tos' of creating our, unusual, items.

We were tasked with creating a book cover, and a bird!

Guided by The Crafty Hen, plenty of choice of material, and other crafty supplies, it was a really fun afternoon.

I will admit that I am more comfortable with a machine, than hand sewing (I forgot how fiddly it can be). However, I got stuck in, and had loads of fun.

The book is not as hard to put together as you would think, the sturdiness of the material really helped, then with some embellishments, I ended up with a very pretty notebook cover. My bird was a little harder work, but with patience, he was a success. He now sits proudly on a shelf in my living room (sad, I know, but I was rather proud).

It really was a fun afternoon, filled with crafting and laughter..........2 of my favourite things!
