Meal Planning

So August bank holiday is upon us already. We'll be talking Halloween and fireworks, before we know it! 

This week's budget kind of got blown out of the water. I'm ashamed to admit it.............but it's because I went! It turns out, I'm the over spender! Go figure!?

It almost doubled! However, in my defence, I bought a lot more fruit, in my attempt to get my family to try more. Also, since Mr. Ojo and the teen started doing the weekly shop, I have struggled to find healthy lunches. Unless I want to pick at sausage rolls, or mini sausages, I'm stuck.

There, I think I've mounted a good defence, now I can get on with this weeks meal plan.

Take Away
Cottage Pie
Roast Dinner
Homemade Chicken Chow Mein
Slow Cooked Gammon 
Chicken and Rice (teens request)
Pork Chops, Mashed Potato and Vegetables 

We stuck to the plan last week, with the boys being off school it's easier. 

I know my meal plans are not adventurous or exotic. I'm just trying to show that with home cooking and a bit of thought, you can eat healthy, tasty food, on a budget. In fact, the only unhealthy thing on this weeks plan is a take away (which was eaten Saturday), and it was only eaten, because I hadn't meal planned in time!
