Double Chocolate Cookies #GBBO

I only bake on a Sunday now, there's too much temptation if I do it more often, and I'm desperately trying to lose weight!

Mummy Mishaps (link) is running a link up, with the theme each week running along with The Great British Bake Off.

Last week, the bake off challenge was Biscuits. If you click the link above, you will see many recipes for all different types of biscuits, that will make you drool!

I've gone for something I know all my children will eat.

Double Chocolate Cookies

6oz Flour
4oz Margarine (softened)
2oz Castor Sugar
2 Tbsps Cocoa Powder
100g Chocolate Chips (you won't need the full packet, but cooks privilege and all that)

Preheat the oven to Gas mark 5/375

Mix together the softened marg and sugar, until soft and fluffy.

Mix together the dry ingredients.

Gradually add the flour to the sugar mix. As it starts to stiffen, start using your hands (this will keep the butter soft)

I make balls of biscuit dough, place them on a baking tray. Fill a beaker with cool water, dip a fork in it and squash the biscuits down. Keep dipping and squashing.
At this point you can roll them out, and use cutters. However, I always get in a right mess doing that!

Put the chocolate chips on the top, and push them in a little.

Place on the top shelf of the oven, for around 15 minutes. Keep a close eye, as they could burn quickly.

They may not be uniform, but homemade isn't meant to be perfect.

This makes 12 biscuits, that are approximately 167 calories each.

Do let me know if you have a go. They are deliciously easy and lasted minutes in my house!
