How private are you?

As a blogger, I am probably the least private person.

But that's not actually the case.

I do share a lot of my life. The things we do, the things we see, how we live. I rarely share how I think though, and this has become a bit of an issue for me lately.

I have been blogging, almost, 2 years now (hasn't that time flown). It has become part of my life, one of the rare places I can truly be myself. Because of this, I want to put my feelings down here.

But I can't.

I've made this a very public blog. My friends, family, parents from school.......all read. So I cannot put deeply personal stuff on here, for fear of upsetting people.

The last couple of weeks I have had conversations that have really got to me, in one way or another. Someone said something that has really upset me, and I would love to get it off my chest. I have been involved in a few discussions that I would love to voice an opinion on.

I cannot do it personally, that would upset people. Either because my opinions differ from theirs, or because it is a personal matter that shouldn't be shared publicly, for fear of people knowing who I am talking about.

This is the problem with making my blog too public.

But what's the answer?

Do I give up my little space, for something a little more anonymous?

Do I start another blog, under a different name?

I don't know............Do you?

  1. I'd love to know the answer to this question too!

  2. That's a tricky one. Sometimes i wish i had made my blog anonymous because i often hold back.

    1. I think a few of us feel like that. My hubby has said I should make another one x

  3. I'm like you. I blog, but I sometimes find myself censoring myself or not putting anything too deeply personal on my blog because people I know 'in real life' subscribe to it.
My mum being one of them. It's also read by some school gate mums, and other friends and family.
Maybe I should set up an anonymous, ranty blog, lol.... :-)

    1. I am seriously considering starting an anonymous place to post, for everyone!! x

  4. I keep the personal stuff, personal. Though of course, I do share some of my private life on my blog, but only the ones I'm comfortable with sharing. I'm sure many will agree that it's always good to ponder first (especially when we are not sure) before we hit the publish button.

    1. I have written before and not published. Personal stuff from my past, that I could never make public. I found it so helpful to write, I actually deleted it I'm the end x

  5. I do have locked entries for the more sensitive blog entries. I think you should start another blog cuz you want to not cuz someone asked you or pushed you to do it but its just me. I havent read any scandalous thing on your blog tho. #pocolo

  6. I am similar to Dean, I do share some of my private life as well as things from the past but there are some things that would upset Ross if I shared them and I need to respect his feelings as he is involved in my blog too. I guess the easiest way is to may be write a post that is password protected and get people to request the password if they would like to read it, or give it out to the people you do want. Tricky one! Thank you for linking to PoCoLo :) x

I do love comments and read them all, please be nice and tboughful to others x
