So this is it, your last week at school.
You are an adult now, officially. You are coming to the end of your GCSEs. This is your time to enter into the big wide world, make your own choices.
Before you do that, there are some things I'd like to say:
I am unbelievably proud of the way you have handled yourself, throughout your years in comprehensive. You never became one of those kids that thought being cool and popular was more important than an education.
You think people don't like you, but I have yet to meet an ADULT that didn't. You can hold a conversation. That is something to be proud of.
Anybody that has put you down, or made you feel unworthy, are about to be left to your past. I know that one day you will understand that, what they did, they did it out of jealousy. They could see you were the better person, their loss.
The choices you have been making for your future are brilliant. You have shown me that I can trust you, that you know what to do.
I also want you to know that your place in my heart, and our home, will always be there. There is nothing that you could do, that would make that change.
So my sweet, funny, intelligent, handsome boy.
It's time for me to allow you to spread your wings, a little.
Just remember, I am always here to catch you, if you fall.
