TEAM HONK is Coming!!

If you are a friend on Facebook, you will have seen me post a link the other day to a Sports relief page.

Yes, me, miss lardy bottom, doing something sporty!! This is for a worthy cause though, and I feel privileged to be involved. There are many ways to get involved yourself too.

The first ever Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Games take place from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd March 2014. The public can join the fun and games by running, swimming or cycling their way to raising cash at over a thousand venues around the country, including the landmark events at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

As one of the biggest fund raising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active raise cash and change lives. The money raised by the public is spent by Comic Relief to help transform the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged people both at home in the UK and across the world.

Everything helps, even if you're not doing anything yourself the smallest donation makes a difference. The last time I got involved (in a very small way) with TEAM HONK was for comic relief. They sent out digital 'postcards' to show the good work being done Ghana. This time around they are going MUCH bigger!

The plan is a relay, from John O Groats to Lands End! Yes really! There is a baton, being passed in funny and funny ways, from one end of the country to another, by bloggers.

It comes to Wales too!

There is a map/route/master plan to be found here:

I am picking up the baton on the 1st of February from Twin Mummy and Daddy at Caerphilly Castle..............dressed in my pyjamas (and probably dressing gown, it's still winter). We will then do a lap of the Castle, dressed like this, with the baton. If anyone would care to join us, for a bit of fund raising, you would be more than welcome! Our leg is a little different from many of the others, who are finding fun ways to get from one baton pass to another. Unfortunately I am way too far (old and plump) from the next baton pass to do it any other way but car. However I am passing to Julies Notebook..... Still in my pyjamas! I do hope Gloucester is understanding.

Because I can't do much during the passing of the baton, I am getting the local school involved for the week I have it. Maybe have a day of fun, dress up and silliness with the baton. All to raise funds.

If you want to support my silliness you can do so in 2 ways.

You can donate here:

Alternatively you can:
Text 'HONK' to 7005
This will donate £5 to the cause.
