This year I wanted to branch out into a more varied content. One of the things I wanted to share was my style, more photography than writing.
I don't kid myself that I have a great sense of style, that people would want to copy, as far as clothing and the way I dress. I don't think I dress badly, but I do dress for me! I was taught by my mum to enhance your good bits (my mum has great style). So I do tend to dress in cleavage enhancing tops, and leggings (or thick tights) with short skirts.
I am a big lass and, even at my slimmest, I was never 'skinny'. I guess you could say I'm 'curvy'.
The style I am known for though, is my hair. I've actually been to have it cut and styled today, this is how it currently looks:

Shockingly enough, I am NOT a natural platinum blonde! On the picture above you can only see a splash of the colour I normally have.
That is my style, I love colour.
It's just hair! It will grow back if you look after it. The owner of Kahuna Hair, that did my hair today, was surprised my hair wasn't wrecked, I bleach it once a month after all. My hair isn't though, because I take care.
I only ever put the blonde on my roots and, I stick to Live colour XXL Platinum blonde. I use serum with every wash, to stop it drying out. I put a deep conditioner on about once a month, then lay in the bath while it does it's work. I also use a heat protection spray, if curling or straightening.
To give you an idea of the colours I have been over the last couple of years, here's a taster:
That's not all the colours either!! I must admit, I do miss the black and red (and various other colours I mixed with it). But having been completely grey since my late teens, it's just too hard to maintain.
At the moment, I have the Electric Blue Live Colour waiting to be used, but I've been told, if I mix it with a little conditioner, it gives it a softer pastel colour................
Watch this Space..
Love your haircut! I am hair dye virgin, I know a rare beast! Ironically even hairdresser's think I have dyed my hair as I am naturally a stripy red so I guess lucky! My OH like you went grey at 16 so I am not sure which of our genes my two will have.
ReplyDeleteThough as a few more grey hairs keep creeping into my hair I may finally at nearly 43 reach for the hair dye! x x x
