Chocolate Bread

Yes, really. I would also like to say.......NOM NOM NOM.

Oh my goodness, it is delicious, especially buttered. I would consider putting chocolate spread on it.......that wouldn't be disgusting, would it???

I thought I would share the recipe with you, while I laze around the caravan, waiting for everyone to surface. I actually made this loaf especially for the holiday. If you've been following my story, you will know that my hubby, my eldest and I gave up chocolate for over 10 weeks. We were going to eat it again on holiday.......hence the chocolate bread! Here is the recipe....

Chocolate Bread

Made using a bread maker, if you're clever, you can probably adjust everything to hand make.

1.5 cups of warm water
3 cups of Bread Flour
0.5 cup of cocoa powder (not drinking chocolate)
1 table spoon of butter
1 table spoon of caster sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
7.5 grams (or a heaped tspn) of yeast
200g of milk chocolate chips (2 bags of the supermarket ones)

Place ingredients in the bread maker, as stated in instructions. Most bread makers will tell you to add the chocolate chips after the 1st set of beeps. However my bread maker is a little temperamental, so I add them at the same time as everything else, this give a lovely rich, moist, chocolaty loaf.

My hubby said, it reminded him of malt loaf, without the fruit. It doesn't really taste like a cake but it also doesn't really taste like bread. whichever way you want to compare it, it's blooming delicious!

  1. That looks utterly delicious. I wonder if I can make it in my Panasonic bread maker?!

  2. oh what's not to like about this loaf yummy thank you for linking up to Bake it at The good life mum xx

I do love comments and read them all, please be nice and tboughful to others x
