Whats for dinner......

When I signed up to the Brit Mums 'Whats for dinner' challenge, I was quite looking forward to it. The challenge was to make a meal using Schwartz  2 in 1 sachets. I was sent 2 packets, the flavours were.....

·      Mediterranean Chicken Pasta and Cheesy Crumb Topping: A blend of herbs and spices for chicken pasta with a cheesy topping
·      Garlic & Thyme Roast Chicken + Crispy Roast Potatoes: Roast chicken seasoning, with garlic and thyme, accompanied by a special seasoning to create perfect Crispy Roast Potatoes

To find out more, just click on this link2 in 1 recipe mixes from Schwartz. There are a few flavours to choose from and no one says you have to follow the packet instructions.

I wasn't sure at first whether to be a little adventurous, or to stick with the recipe advised on the packet.

Last night we decided to try the Mediterranean Chicken packet and, as a family, decided to go with the packet ingredients.

So these are my ingredients...

The only small changes I made were swapping the chopped tomatoes for passatta.....because I have fussy children. I also added some Parmesan with the cheddar required, simply because the big men of the house love cheese!

The instruction are so easy to follow. I've always loved packet mixes anyway, they take up very little room in the cupboard and all the flavour is already added.

Here are some pictures of the very simple process.

It really was as simple as it looks, took no time at all to put it together!

The ultimate test of course would be feeding it to a teenage boy! Cooking it, the smells are delicious. The herbs that are mixed into the Mediterranean sauce are mouth watering! Ultimate compliment from the teen, he said it smelled like pizza!!

When it was finished it looked like this..

I really can't say much more than.........MMMMmmmm. Which is pretty much what the teen and hubby said too! It would totally feed 4 or more, in a normal household. However I have 2 rather strapping men here now, so it fed 3 of us. Both of them left the room to lick plates.

I would recommend these, I am looking forward to trying the garlic chicken and crispy roast potato one. That one I think the tween will eat too. They make good family meals, with very little preparation.

What more could you want?
