I've been following the 5:2, properly for a couple of weeks. If you look on my 50 books in 2013 page: you will find a link to the book I took my inspiration from.
I feel better, I have less days feeling bloated and sluggish. It is really suiting me.
I never starve myself, I am diabetic and my health is of utmost importance to me. I just find fresh, healthy things to eat on the fast days.
This week I felt awful on my fast day, but I think I may of done it too soon after being quite ill for a few days. So around tea time I was looking for something to eat, I knew if I didn't eat I would make myself very unwell. So I put together the following meal. Simple, low calorie, and gave me everything I really wanted at that moment.
50g (dry weight) pasta. I used spaghetti as it looked more!
3 balls of frozen spinach. I much prefer to buy my spinach this way, less waste
1 Laughing cow light triangle.
Cook everything according to packet instructions.......and mix together!
It really was that simple, and quick.
If I was doing it again I would possible add another cheese triangle, and possibly melt it a little 1st. But as an experiment, it was perfect.
Fast days are so much easier if you can find good food to eat. However, if I am feeling ill again, I will skip the 1st fast day afterwards. I felt like my body was telling me it needed more yesterday, usually on a fast day I am full of life and more awake than normal.
So to finish off, I have good news and bad news.
The bad news: Last time I weighed my scales was being a bit loopy, so I took the lowest weight. This was a mistake and I have been above that since.
The good news: I have continued to weigh, just not recording it until I caught up. So this week I weighed..............I not only caught up with the misread but passed it by 2lb!!!
I have now lost 11.5lb in total. That is since coming home from holidays, about 4 weeks ago. I really can't sing the praises enough for this plan. It works for me, fingers crossed it will continue!
