I decided to get involved with the Pinaddicts challenge this month, although I am leaving it a little late to join in!
My inspiration this time comes from the fact that I cannot find a decent notice board for my kitchen, I don't have a lot of room, so I wanted something that I could stick to my fridge.
It still had to be fairly large, as I want it for my meal plans.
I couldn't find anything, so off to Pinterest it is!
Here is the link to my inspiration....pinterest
and for those that want it, here is the picture..
Now please forgive me, this is the 1st time I have made anything like this, and I used a very old, battered tin.
I started with the idea of using old wallpaper, hence why it is in this photo:
However, this didn't work, it looked slightly untidy, and I needed to cover the whole tin, not just the centre.
So I changed it for some material I had bought a while ago, for something completely different. I experimented using both types of glue, the PVA worked better. Although beware if you over use it, it will soak through the material.
I put the 1st layer of material over the whole tin, covering the edges, and glueing it to the back, cutting off any excess. Then cut out a different colour to fit just the centre.
Here is the finished product........
As you can see, the material has soaked up some of the glue, I'm hoping that will dry back, but will have to wait and see.
To finish it off, I had purchased some magnetic tape, available from kleeneze, to the back and voila!
My very own, 1st attempt,
