A Month of Honesty: Day 27

The last couple of days have been a bit of a shocker, to be honest. My husband was dismissed from his job 4 months ago, due to ill health. He has several problems, most of them degenerative, so we have to turn to the benefits system to help us out.

This is no where near as simple as people seem to think! So the last couple of days have been spent figuring out the system, thankfully I had a helpful lady at Job Centre+, today, has pointed us in the right direction (hopefully)

I will write more on this, because the stigma that goes with needing benefits, in the UK, is horrific. No one knows where your life will lead, don't judge what you don't know.

Here is today's entry into:

Mental Health:

A little stressed but, personally, I think I'm dealing with the whole situation quite well. It is what it is, my lifestyle and family dynamic has changed. Silver lining: I get to spend loads of time with my husband/best friend!

General Well Being:

I'm still stuffed up with this cold, it's put my balance off slightly (I almost fell in the shower earlier, because of it). Otherwise, I don't feel tired so the medication must be starting to work.

Exercise:

Bit disappointed, as I had to run an errand today, and I actually jogged it. It was only a minute or two, but it didn't show up in my active minutes!
However, at least I know I can jog and not collapse!

Diet:

Today is my first day of a new experiment, giving up carbohydrates after 4pm. It went a bit wrong today, after spending so much time in town, so the carbs were up til 5pm (not bad really).

Breakfast: Porridge made with lactofree milk
Dinner: Ketchup chicken (recipe coming later this week), oven chips and coleslaw.
Tea: More coleslaw, with 2 boiled eggs
Snacks: Satsumas and sugar snap peas
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not bad, I think!
What about you? What do you think of today's food?
I would love to hear from you.
