Big Changes

It's all change this morning, for many of us, across the UK. Children starting back to school, in the next year up.

The biggest change for us is little A starting primary school (the elder 2 are starting 2nd years of their respective schools/colleges) . It's a big deal for us, as well as him. I've written before about the school, and the support they have given us, particularly in regards to the class he is going in to.

It's a bittersweet reminder, however, of the differences our son has. When we were meeting with the SENCO, last term, it was mentioned that A won't be going to an ordinary comprehensive. I've always know that, because his needs and abilities are greater than the local school can provide. It still hurts my heart a little though, because to me, he's not different, he is just one of my boys, my baby.

Pushing that aside, though, he went in with complete indifference to his new class. Let's hope he likes his first day, and settles better than previous years.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now let's talk about some other changes, something I plan on working on, during the next school year:
ME!
Yes, that's right, it's time to work on myself. It's time to be selfish, but not for totally selfish reasons. My son is always going to need someone to support him. On top of that, the love of my life, Mr. Ojo, also needs me for the first time in our relationship. He needs me to be around for support.
They need me to be fit, healthy and happy.
I need that too.
So there will be changes made, lifelong lifestyle changes. The only person who can do this is me, for me
I am going to continue with my Thinking Slimmer pods, allowing them to let my sub-conscious work for me. I am going to move more and eat better.
I'm also going to look into ways to make myself happy. I know that exercise releases the serotonin in the brain, the 'happy' hormone. So I shall be looking at other ways, apart from the wonderful Zumba.
I'm thinking of trying something I once called 'that bendy shit' on another persons blog.....Yoga!
So if you can think of anything a little different, and cheap as I don't have a budget for this, let me know.
It's time to make changes.....
Who's with me?
  5. I couldn't agree more. You have to apply the oxygen mask to yourself first as they say. By the way, yoga is referred to as "farting for relaxation" in this house. x
  6. Oooh, yes, you should try yoga! I hope you enjoy it. There are loads of brilliant sessions on YouTube (although it is good to get to a class when you can so a teacher can male sure you are doing everything correctly and safely). I started yoga 15 years or so ago and have been a yoga teacher for around 7 years! I love it. Keeps me sane! It's so hard to put yourself first when you have children but I always feel so much better when I do. It gives me the energy for everything else x
  10. How was the first day at school? I hope it went well. It's not selfish to think of yourself, you need to be happy and healthy too. I was doing Pilates once a week before changing jobs and I really enjoyed it. Because it was so new I had to completely switch off from everything else and concentrate on what I was doing. Good luck!
