University, really!?

Today my eldest started visiting University's (when did he grow up??). You know my eldest, the teen that I'm not allowed to talk about, or photograph.

He's the one in the middle!
Today, his class in college, went to visit Cardiff University, to see what the next step could be, on his chosen path. He's currently doing interactive media studies. This, as far as I understand, is all about game/film/special effects design. Please don't quote me on that!

I was, originally, a bit worried about this course, as I didn't know where it would go, as far as a career. I think that just shows my ignorance.
The way forward is media, we all use it.

Adults and children play games, I'm addicted to my games on the phone! There is barely a house, in the UK, that doesn't own a gaming console, of some kind.

Most of the films we watch have some form of CGI, or animation. There is no shortage of jobs available in this area.

Strangely enough, it's heavily based on art, in college. Art is something he never showed much interest in, during his school years. I know this is mostly because it's such a structured class, at GCSE level. In the course he's doing, it's far more free, he can animate whatever he chooses.

He's showing quite a flare for it, with 2 distinctions already, in his coursework.

To say I'm proud of my boy is a massive understatement, I'm proud of all my boys. This is special though, he'll be the first in our, combined, families to go to Uni (My brothers have gone, but as adults, not straight from college).

More than anything though, I can't quite believe I'm old enough to have a child go to University!!

Thank goodness I dye my hair!

Much Love
*By the way, he has read this, before I hit publish!
