Reasons to be Cheerful

It's the last time, this year, that Becky from Lakes Single Mum hosts R2BC. I take over for December, then suddenly we are into 2015!?

Where has this year gone?
How am I suddenly the patent of a 17 year old (boxing day).
How am I looking at driving instructors!?

So let's take a look at my reasons to smile this week.

Reasons to be Cheerful

1. As I said, my son turns 17 the day after Christmas. This week we ordered his provisional licence, so he can learn to drive. *big, scary, mam gulps*.

2. Gradually preparing for Christmas. I've talked many times about being a parent of children with special needs, this time of the year can be especially scary and tense (a post coming about that tomorrow). So I've gradually trimmed up, and it seems to be going really well!

3. My 11 year old, entering his first music competition. It was awesome! He did so well, I actually forgot that it was his first time playing in front of someone other than family. Unfortunately, my phone is utter rubbish and I only caught his sound check, but I think you'll agree, that's pretty good!

So that's my reasons, what's yours? Come share them.

  1. Wow what a future talent for your 11 yo! Hope the transition into Christmas mode carries on smoothly. *gulp* to driving lessons - 6 years before that hurdle here ;-)

  2. Two awesome boys there and more proud Mum moments too: I also get the worry about Christmas, it used to be very difficult here, I'm hoping that a quiet Christmas at home will keep things calm this year xx

  5. Lovely reasons but number 1 is terrifying as I realise my children are nearing that age too especially the oldest. Hard to be a mum sometimes when you just want to keep them safe. I love how you make people realise your realities and well done you on how you encourage your children to their very best. Amazing lady and very proud to know you

    1. Their first steps into the big bad world, when taken by our children, are more frightening than any others xx
