Getting out

I have had a lovely couple of days, actually getting out and active with my kids!

I always feel like I don't do enough with my boys. Then, Saturday, my hubby sprung his holiday on me!! I had genuinely forgotten that he had his 2 weeks summer leave, and he decided to leave it last minute to tell me, as a surprise. An absolutely lovely surprise too.

As an added bonus, his holiday has fallen the same time as this bout of gorgeous weather we are having. We are fortunate, living in south Wales, that there are a few places you can visit for free. One of those is Caerphilly Castle. I know on the info page it has prices, but that is only to go into the castle. You can stroll around the path, feed the ducks that are in the moat, have a picnic, all for free. It really can be a lovely day out, it is also in the middle of a shopping centre, so everyone is happy!

We went down after the shops had closed on Sunday afternoon. It was still lovely and warm and the walkway was quite quiet. We took some bread and fed the ducks that are always there.....

After a lovely stroll, we headed back to the car then home. We took advantage of the weather and sat in the garden for a bit, and I took some pretty cool pics, well I think so!
It was lovely to see my children, who hate the outdoors, outside having fun.

Hopefully this is a good omen for the future, and I may actually get to spend some of this summer outdoors!

As a family, we spent the rest of the Bank Holiday weekend visiting family. I do love going across the bridge to visit the lovely Mama Owl and her family, including her lovely mum.

I guess the only downside, which I can expect a lot of during this weather........
Sunburn!!!!! Ouch........

Hope you've all had a lovely Bank Holiday and got to take advantage of this sudden burst of good weather.
