Reasons to be cheerful

Oh boy its been a tough week in Ojo's world! Even more reason to look for some positives I think! So straight to it this week.

1. Modern Medicine. There are enough negatives about the NHS and doctors written, very rarely the positives. This week my son got sick, we didn't think it could be more than a bad cold or flu. Thanks to the quick thinking of the nurse on the out of hours doctor service he was diagnosed with Scarlet Fever. I wrote a post about it so I won't bore you with more details. I will say, however, that 100 years ago it was one of the main causes of death in children of my sons age. How terrifying is that? So I thank the lord for a nurse that thought on her feet and for Antibiotics that have made my son well again, and hopefully stopped him spreading it to anyone else.

2. Me. I am my reason to be cheerful. Why? Because I am staying bloody positive! I have not fallen apart, I have kept the other 2 boys going. AND I even managed half an hour on my exercise bike yesterday, to try and work my hips a little. It actually worked as a pain killer. So I am proudly patting myself on the back, and I think every mother, whatever her circumstance, should do the same.

3. My fairy God Mother. Who is not actually a fairy and doesn't really believe in God. She is however my mother! She came up with giant chocolate buttons, that were 'special' buttons, just for making medicine go down (see what I did there)........and it worked. Thanks to her I am not sitting over my son in hospital, as that was the next step to get medicine into him. Thank god, again, for mums

I'm not sure if there is a linky this week but I hope you've all got reasons that make you smile this week.
